Welcome! We are thrilled that you’re joining us in our efforts to become Nebraska Arts Council certified Heartbeat Creative District. This amazing opportunity will give us access to funds, resources, and support that will help us tell our unique stories and elevate the value of the arts in our beloved community. By joining the statewide Creative District network we will also strengthen ties to our neighbors to bolster tourism and our state’s economy.

There are many ways you can help!

  1. Join the PULSE planning group: Without PULSE, there’s no Heartbeat! Partners Undertaking Local Solutions for Expression (PULSE) is the multi-faceted partnership created to develop and organize the Heartbeat Creative District. Join City representatives, business owners, artists, and other city leaders by attending meetings and gathering data to help finish the application and then plan and run our Creative District!
  2. Subscribe to and watch this page for more information about upcoming district events, including public meetings, volunteer opportunities, public art projects and/or events in the area.

The proposed Creative District encompasses a multi-block area in the center of Hastings, including, but not limited to the Downtown, BID designated district. The boundaries will generally be from the BNSF railroad tracks to 3rd street, with a segment from Burlington to Hastings extending to 7th street, and Burlington to Eastside with one outlet to Lexington from the BNSF tracks to 1st street and one outlet to South Street from Burlington to Lincoln.  

The Heartbeat Creative District encompasses the Historic Downtown and existing creative/entertainment locations.  For more information about these locations, click on the dots in the map. 

Please use the pins to leave us a comment about art/entertainment locations in Downtown Hastings and surrounding areas to identify venues/ on-going events that we may have missed. 

El Distrito Creativo propuesto abarca un área de varias cuadras en el centro de Hastings, que incluye, entre otros, el distrito designado por el BID del centro.
