The City of Hastings is planning to develop a grant application to the United States Department of Transportation to plan for transportation improvements in South Hastings. The Rebuilding American Infrastructure with Sustainability and Equity (RAISE) grant program provides grants for surface transportation infrastructure projects with significant local or regional impact to improve safety, environmental sustainability, quality of life, community connectivity, and economic competitiveness.

The grant application is due January 30, 2025. Check back to this page often to stay up to date on community meetings, learn more about the project, and see the final draft application.

The City is holding a Community Open House at Lincoln Elementary School, 720 S. Franklin Ave, on January 23rd at 6:30 pm. This meeting, hosted by Councilman Mike Anderson and Councilman Steve Huntley, Ward 1 Representatives, will give an opportunity for community members to learn about the grant and provide input and ideas for the grant application.
