Planning Commission Recommends Adoption of the Plan
A couple of winter weather events couldn't keep the Planning Commission from considering the draft of the City of Hastings Comprehensive Plan. The originally scheduled public hearing on February 18th was postponed to March 4th due to a blizzard impacting Hastings and the region.
At the March 4th Planning Commission, which was threatened by a snow squall, the Commission held a public hearing. AT that public hearing, staff gave an overview of the document and discussed elements of the Plan. Commissioners noted a few minor corrections and edits to the draft, which staff and the Planning Consultant, Marvin Planning Consultants, will correct.
The Planning Commission, on a vote of 7-0, recommended approval of the Comprehensive Plan to the City Council, with the noted corrections to the document.
The City Council will hold a public hearing at their March 24th meeting.
