Queen City Development, LLC has applied to rezone and plat a parcel of land generally located southeast of West Laux Drive and East 31st Street for a new multi-family residential development, known as Trailside Village.
The applicant has requested to rezone (Case No. 2025-133) the property from R-3 Multiple Family Residential District to RP-3 Multiple Family Residential Planned District to accommodate a 28-unit development consisting of duplex and tri-plex buildings.
Additionally, the applicant has requested a final plat (Case No. 2025-135) for the Trailside Subdivision.
The Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on April 15, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., and the City Council will hold a public hearing on May 12, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. Both meetings will be held at the Hastings Municipal Airport at 3300 W. 12th Street, Hastings, Nebraska. All interested parties are invited to provide comments, as described below.

The City of Hastings offers several ways for people to provide input on applications to the Hastings Planning Commission. Regardless of the method, all public input is considered, so people need to use only one method.

Please introduce yourself, your neighborhood, and your thoughts about this project. Example: Barbara Smith, Ward 1. The project is two blocks from my home and my children would have to walk past it every day on their way to school. Please consider adding sidewalks to this project.
Other ways to provide comment:
1 - Send an email to the Development Services Staff. Your email will be provided to the Planning Commission. To have your comments provided in the Planning Commission packet, your comments must be received by noon, Wednesday before the Planning Commission Meeting. Otherwise, your email must be received by 12:00 pm the day of the Planning Commission to be given to them at the meeting.
2 - Attend the meeting in person to give public input. The public hearing date, time, and meeting location is described above.
